“Phyna Renounces Her Family Name and Reveals Shocking Truth About Her Origins!”
Big Brother Naija “Level Up” Edition 2022 winner, Phyna, has publicly announced that she is renouncing her family surname.
The reality TV star, whose real name is Josephine Ijeoma Otabor, shared the news on her verified X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that she will no longer be using the surname Otabor.
“I am publicly dropping my family surname OTABOR…”
Phyna revealed that she has no family and that her origins remain a mystery.
Although she is searching for answers about her family, she is also having a tough time doing so.
“it has been proven that I have no family and nobody knows how I came about…. I’m still searching for answers though… it’s been rough with me lately……”
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time this issue has surfaced. In 2022, shortly after winning the Big Brother Naija competition, she faced accusations from her family for abandoning them. The allegations sparked a significant backlash on social media, with many criticizing her for neglecting her roots.
Phyna also shared that while growing up, she was maltreated, but she didn’t suspect that there was more to why they were maltreating her because she was too young.
Reactions following Phyna’s post

Dearest Jessica wrote, “The new fame and social status are affecting your mental health rather than building you.
You have to look inward to see where you are doing this wrong.

Please see a phycologist, you will be fine”
