New round of peace talks between DRC and Rwanda set for November 21
The next round of peace talks on the situation in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo will take place in Kenya on November 21.
Ahead of the talks, the Community of East African States’ peace facilitator for eastern DRC, former Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta, and Burundian president Evariste Ndayishimiye are now in Kinshasa for a two-day visit.

The announcement, which was given by the Community of East African States yesterday, coincided with more fighting near Goma between government forces and the M23 rebels.
The former Tutsi rebels took up arms in 2021 and have made advances towards the North Kivu provincial capital.
The new clashes caused a resurgence of tensions between the DRC and Rwanda, accused by Kinshasa of active support to this rebellion. Kigali, however, has denied this.
O Friday, there was a peace meeting between Angolan President, João Lourenço, and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame, in Kenya.
On Saturday, Lourenço also met with Congolese head of state, Félix Tshisekedi.
